0.5 indoor bicycle parking spaces per dwelling unit — effectively one bicycle space for every two apartments. Jersey City planning documents expressly describe the residential requirement as being provided indoors.

For example:

20 apartments = 10 bicycle spaces
50 apartments = 25 bicycle spaces
100 apartments = 50 bicycle spaces

The requirement comes from the Jersey City Land Development Ordinance, generally referenced as §345-70.C, Bicycle Parking. Jersey City adopted the citywide bicycle-parking ordinance in 2013.

Neither the federal ADA Standards nor New Jersey’s Barrier Free Subcode specifies a particular style or model of bicycle rack.
