Our bike brackets are manufactured with cushion coated steel with a shiny black medium gloss powder coat finish. Designed to allow bikes to be spaced 12″ apart when space is tight. Children’s bikes can be stored 10″ apart. We alternate the heights of our brackets 64″ and 74″ on 12″ centers so the handlebars don’t touch others.
When the bike room is initially spacious the bike room can be set up with #42488 bike brackets being spaced on 24″ centers all at 64″ from the cushioned bike hook to the floor. Then when additional bike storage is needed the new bike brackets can be installed in between the existing bike brackets at 74″ high. If the bike room walls are sheet rock we suggest adding plywood supports over the bike walls 24″ high x 2″ thick is ideal. Prior to installing the bike brackets consider painting the walls in matte or semi gloss finish for easy removal of dirt marks with a wet cloth.
